Opinion | Forcing wind, solar on rural Michigan is bad policy | Bridge Michigan
The claim that clean energy and agriculture are natural allies overlooks a fundamental reality: the substantial land requirement for renewable energy projects.3 weeks ago Clifford Krimmel 2
This is just another move by big government politicians to consolidate power in Lansing. The farther away from the voters and tax payer the more they like it. Secondly this is really about money for the companies that make the so called green energy like solar and wind turbines. In fact this slows or even prevent continued research for more reliable energy production.3 weeks ago Jaime Greene MI State Representative 65th District

Jaime Greene MI State Representative 65th District To say your response, presentation and demeanor this morning to Representative Aiyash was beyond my expectations, would be an understatement. You put him back on his haunches a bit-------and I couldn't have enjoyed it more. I SO wish I could have attended. It, appears, though, that if I had walked into the hearing while wearing a Barney Fife baseball cap, I would have been selected to speak on behalf of the residents. 🙄 So, since I couldn't be there (on the downside of Covid), you were tremendous. You didn't back down. You certainly weren't intimidated and when you run for governor, let me know and I will march in your parade. -

Clifford Krimmel it was a fundraiser for the new Football youth program in Richmond.20 weeks ago Clifford Krimmel
Jaime Greene MI State Representative 65th District at what age? I question the wisdom of having kids in a football program at an early age, such as 5 or 6. Their young bodies can't take the pounding especially in the joints and of course the head. I know of one young player who had headaches all the time. Of course no one would admit that it might be the fact that his head was bounced off the turf numerous times might be the reason. Ironic that a physical therapy would spear head this.20 weeks ago Jaime Greene MI State Representative 65th District
Clifford Krimmel that is up to their parents and their doctors to determine. My kids enjoyed the program. They learned team building skills, how to listen, follow directions, it got them outside and strengthened their bodies. They also cultivated, lifelong relationships and friendships.20 weeks ago Clifford Krimmel
Jeff Greene whats that supposed to mean? I care about The health of kids, not sure what parties have to do with that. Fact is football if it's flag football is relatively safe. If it's tackle and at younger ages not so much. Injuries to the brain often don't show up for years after. I coached flag football, basketball, and baseball.19 weeks ago Jeff Greene

I shared this video in 2016 on my personal page. It popped up in my memories
today. Coincidentally, at the end of a long session yesterday the last agenda item was a 4 page resolution supporting the murder of babies. I do not stand with that resolution. Bill Clinton and the Democrat Party used to say “abortion should be safe and rare”. Michigan murders over 30,000 babies a year which is more than our declining population. I will continue to fight for those 30,000 babies a year. No human should have to endure the pain and suffering of an abortion. -

Big stuff up here in the 'Queen City'! Could you save me some time Jaime and advise if anything written up or already out there on 'Age limits for Drag Shows'? Here's the question I asked on my site. I’m totally an amateur in this arena. I honestly haven’t invested hours of reading or research but from a simple every day common sense and Christian worldview, my main opinion is for businesses to do their best for the surrounding environment. To my best as a chef we got graded on total utilization. What does that mean? Now we seek critical thinking from anyone discussing this. Total utilization means when I peel and cut up onions, carrots and celery for dishes the ends, the stems and rinds and peels of anything is used. For the ends and stems of the vegetables we toss into a pot with the chicken bones from your roasted whole chicken and make stock that is used for soup. After that’s all been cooked the bits and what’s left after being cooked down is probably 50% smaller portion that what you started with. Now you can put that in a hole in the earth that will easily break down and degrade over time and even play a part in making the soil healthier. My grease from bacon and meats now that’s either re-utilized for greasing the grates on the grill or used to make lard for adding to other meals you cook or you run extremely hot scalding water to water it into the earth or water system that you dilute it to a point it’s able to be cleared by diluting it. I don’t think it’s bad to go with recycling of paper and products that get thrown into the trash that will break down naturally and degrade. It’s the things like say our old clothes and metals or businesses that have materials or practices that create I guess what people call a carbon footprint that well I’ll be honest I’m not thinking it’s healthy to hang out 2 feet behind a diesel tractor and suck on fumes for an hour so yeah let’s try to minimize just being lazy or wreck less and polluting the earth or air. However the world is profoundly created with an eco system that can shame any human mind to think it’s capable to wrestle a tornado to the earth and demand it obey man’s idea of peace and order. God knows our scientific and economic developments, He commands us to be good stewards and I believe what we don’t know or what we can’t completely control to perfectly combat what’s negatively impacted by our lives with living life is ultimately God’s domain to help use His eco system to deal with it or yes maybe allow consequences. We create, we build, we live our life to God’s glory and be wise, seek good stewardship but we can’t control it all or save the planet from either our own needs to thrive and survive and live. It’s foolish to live naked in a field with eating berries, leaves and bugs in order to be sure we aren’t eating an animal that’s got a life more sacred than humans or causing harm to the planet to build and have industry and western advanced city or suburban or urban lives. I agree with John Vermeulen and Mark Blazejewski the most, they make good points too. Thanks for offering this Jaime it’s a great way to engage with the people.31 weeks ago Jaime Greene MI State Representative 65th District 1

How can it be said that we have been on the wrong track for years when furnaces are 95 or more percent efficient? Gas mileage and life of vehicles is 3 times longer than 50 years ago? How is it clean or efficient to utilize eminent domain to take farm land to give it to foreign countries for factories built with Michigan tax money not expected to to even be built for 10 years while we fix the roads with borrowed money? Nuclear, natural gas, hydro, and I wish there were better incentives on residential geothermal. I do not support EV and industrial solar. Too much devastating mining and dangerous materials and battery components being manufactured, transported, installed in the vehicles, and eventually disposed of. Wind turbines are are dangerous, devastate quality of life for anyone near, and are deadly for bats and birds. It seems as if the “clean energy” movement is more of a shift from trying to conserve energy, to this world of massive energy production/consumption. Like one person stated, planting more trees is a tremendous boost to our air quality and temperature stability. Thank you for asking residents!31 weeks ago David Villeme 3
Clean from start to finish. Not just while in use. This includes mining, drilling, transportation, maintenance and production. Disposal if necessary. If it leaves a larger carbon footprint from the above. Then it’s not clean, just a scam Efficient is also a large consideration.31 weeks ago Mark Blazejewski 2
Clean energy would have zero negative effect on the earth I’d imagine. From the building of say a turbine, the effects on the land where it stands and how it’s removed when it’s beyond it’s usable life. Thoughtful use would be changing our farming methods. Sustainable farming with organic compost do that the minerals the plants need are there. Getting rid of pesticides and fertilizer or minimal use .
Planting more trees and creating more natural/native plant areas on golf courses, freeways (in grassy areas) and doing less mowing .
Maybe this is more protecting natural resources but I think it helps promote a healthier earth for us, plants, bees Oh and I’m curious if there was such a concern for climate change, wouldn’t they already be planting millions of trees to combat the CO2 and wouldn’t we stop using asphalt since it’s made from fuel and slowly leaches into ground water, lakes and streams? Meant that to be a productive question.30 weeks ago Emanuele Souta

Our staff is essentially defenseless and like the title says “sitting ducks”. Tate has decided it is too dangerous for House staff to have a gun and/or a “weapon” (he also refuses to define what that is). This is reprehensible!! In the City that is ranked the 17th most violent city in the COUNTRY staff is vulnerable, and powerless to an attacker. How rich coming from a 6’5” 300lb man—Try being 5’2” and, well, lighter. The Democrats have passed gun controls that have only made it harder for law abiding people to get a gun for protection. Absolutely. Socialism, takes over a bit at a time or in some cases in one big bite. In either case it's never good for the average Joe or Jane. As far as what's going on right now it's all about taking control. I find it ironic, that a party without touted "choice" now is doing everything to IMPOSE ideology, and we are stripped of our rights to choose.33 weeks ago Emanuele Souta

My fantastic colleague said this best! Even though being in the minority sinks, this is what WINNING in the minority looks like. #taxbreaks38 weeks ago Ken Schroeder
Thanks for your efforts! I understand there is a vote coming up on gender that will allow civil rights suits if pronouns aren’t used correctly? Also possibly an attack on the electoral college? -

Today was a very difficult day. That last shred of protections women had against someone who hurt them during an abortion among many other protections were removed. Today was not about abortion, that passed with Prop 3. Today made it very clear we were not wearing tin foil hats —we talked about the dangers of Prop 3. All protections women had for safety were removed. The video below was an amendment I proposed to connect a piece of legislation that would protect babies diagnosed pre-born with a chromosome anomaly would be protected and not murdered for being different. It was not even voted on, it was gaveled DOWN!39 weeks ago Ken Schroeder 1
When does the 1.3 trillion spending package come up? Or has it already passed? It must be very frustrating but please keep fighting for us! -

It was a busy week!!
Thank you for the hard fight. Considering how new administrations overturn their predecessor's actions, is it possible this being overturned with a republican governor and majority?
Rick we will need the trifecta. However farms also don’t have to sell at this point.
Jaime Greene MI State Representative 65th District Is it legal to give a Michigan State Representative a hug? What a great opinion piece you and Dave submitted to Bridge. I can't thank you enough for going to bat for us. What the DEMS did in Lansing was wrong in so many ways. Disgust doesn't begin to describe what so many of us are feeling.
Norman Stephens I receive hugs and encouragement!!! It is surreal what I have lived through the past 3 weeks. I still can’t believe this is happening in my state. Now farmers need to encourage each other and DON’T SELL YOUR LAND OR LEASE IT!!

Norman Stephens 🤮
Norman Stephens I keep running through my head. Why would a state representative need to sign an NDA? What am I actually going to do to bring a business there, or to change why a business would make a decision there. What is my actual power? I thought I was to write laws? If I am missing something, please tell me.
Jaime Greene MI State Representative 65th District The legislators said without agreeing to the NDA, they would not be given information about the project for the state. So, when they sign the NDA, they are given the information-------which they can't disclose to anyone else. Now, that's their story. True or not, that's their response.
Norman Stephens do we need the information?
