Today was a very difficult day. That last shred of protections women had against someone who hurt them during an abortion among many other protections were removed. Today was not about abortion, that passed with Prop 3. Today made it very clear we were not wearing tin foil hats —we talked about the dangers of Prop 3. All protections women had for safety were removed. The video below was an amendment I proposed to connect a piece of legislation that would protect babies diagnosed pre-born with a chromosome anomaly would be protected and not murdered for being different. It was not even voted on, it was gaveled DOWN!2 weeks ago Ken Schroeder 1

Jaime...I'm so glad that you are our voice in Lansing! As devastating as these shootings are...taking away our rights to bear arms is not the answer. So many are stating stricter gun laws....I truly believe that we need to think about WHO is pulling the trigger. The latest MSU tragedy ...the shooter obtained that gun illegally. And if our guns were all taken away....trust me...those monsters would still be able to get them. If not a gun..they would use other deadly means. We need to address the mental illness here...the fact that the facilities that use to exist..or the help or services that were out there to help...have been cut drastically by administration cuts! We need to look into recognizing and having facilities that can help these people before they get to this point. Thank you for listening and I pray for your strength and I trust your voice ! -

I have a question, are both of the “Emergency Powers Acts” that were utilized by the Governor for the shutdowns in Michigan still in effect? Has there been any legislation considered for congressional oversight of Executive Orders?7 weeks ago Jaime Greene MI State Representative 65th District 6
Ken Schroeder The Emergency Powers of the Governor Act has been repealed by the Legislature. The Emergency Management Act of 1976 allows the governor to declare a state of emergency for 28 days. Regarding the pandemic the 28 day window expired in spring of 2020. The Court of Claims struck down Governor Whitmer's attempts to extend the state of emergency under the Emergency Management act of 1976 beyond the 28 days. There have been many bills that have attempted to reel in the use of emergency orders, and I believe all of them have failed. We will keep trying.7 weeks ago Gail Schroeder
Can you tell us why you voted against repealing THE RETIREMENT TAX?7 weeks ago Jaime Greene MI State Representative 65th District 2
Gail Schroeder HB 4001 passed in the House on January 26 and has progressed to the Senate for further consideration. SB 1 passed the Senate and now is being considered in the House. While I wholeheartedly support tax relief for all Michigan residents, and especially senior citizens who must make ends meet on fixed incomes, I did not vote in support of this bill because it did not provide equal tax relief for all retirees. I continue to support the House Republican tax relief plan, HB 4008, which provides immediate tax relief to all retirees. It is my hope that we can find common ground on this issue and bring tax relief to all retirees. -

You don't even seem to get it; democrats function under the philosophy of "From each according to their ability, to each according to their need." They will pay lip-service to "reviewing all options regarding what to do what the surplus" and then jam through "target tax relief" in order to buy votes in the next election (i.e. EITC). This would NEVER had been a problem if the "Republicans" didn't raise the income tax in order to balance the budget back in the "00's under Granholm (thank you Mike Bishop for that little debacle) and when they raised the gas tax, along with adding a perpetual tax increase, after Prop 1 of 2015 got nuked at the ballot. If they would've left everything as it was, the democrats wouldn't have had the opportunity to get funny with the money. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes!8 weeks ago Jaime Greene MI State Representative 65th District
John Doah I understand the shenanigans well. The past is moot. We need tax relief and we need it now. We have over a 9 Billion dollar surplus! It is time the government gives it back and NOW!!8 weeks ago John Doah 1
Jaime Greene MI State Representative 65th District You're preaching to the choir on this one, but the horses have already left the barn. Just like Lucy telling Charlie Brown that she won't yank the ball away at the last moment, I've honestly lost track of the number of times that I've heard "promises" of returning money back to the people who had EARNED it in the first place. People who claimed to be "conservative" would smile, look you straight in the eye and tell everyone the same line that we've heard in the clip above. But when it came time to follow through, they come up with a litany of excuses on why it just couldn't be done. Sorry. Maybe next time. Whitmer is going to give her SOTS on Wednesday. I'll save you the time, here's a short list of what she'll say. The poor are struggling to make ends meet and they need "our help" (read: state government). She'll push for expanding EITC. Urban areas are struggling because of (fill-in-excuse-of-the-week) and need more funding. She'll push for increasing expenditures. Education is falling behind. She'll dance around the fact that her lockdowns having anything to do with it, but gosh darn it, they'll need more funding as well. Expecially in underprivledged areas around Michigan. Since abortion is now a "fundamental right" (for only one person involved), the state must increase spending to either promote this "right" or to provide for it. I've got more, but I think you got the point. The democrats in the chambers will clap like trained seals during her applause lines. The legacy media around Michigan will parrot her message and crank up the propaganda machine to 11, promoting it to the masses. The democrats will dutifully introduce appropriation bills to fulfill Whitmer's requests. If memory serves, some appropriation bills in Lansing require 2/3's majority to move forward. If you want to convince people that things will be different, the democrats don't have 2/3's of the votes. Just like the Freedom Caucus did in Washington with the Speaker vote earlier this month, the Republicans need to show the courage of the convictions and tell the democrats "no". This will potentially lead to a shutdown of state government. Does your caucus have the courage to match its stated convictions?7 weeks ago John Doah

Jaime Greene MI State Representative 65th District That was for the benefit of other readers who missed the subtlety of how the Governor made her remarks. It was incredibly disappointing how badly the Unemployment Insurance Agency failed Michigan's residents during the pandemic. And then demanding people refund the money they received because of an "error"... No, that money was needed and spent, you don't get to come back 2 years later demanding it get repaid to you because of a clerical error or "new evidence"from a former employer.10 weeks ago Betsy Beauman Trask 1
Don’t get me started on all the 💩 we have had to deal with around this. Bills, at least 10 calls spanned over months. This agency should be shut down and built from scratch!10 weeks ago John Doah 1
First off, I am 100% behind the idea behind the bill. The levels of ineptitude displayed by the Whitmer Administration during her illegal lockdown of Michigan are criminal and should be addressed. Even baby steps are a welcome beginning. But do you honestly think that it will go anywhere with a democrat-controlled legislature and governor? The former UIA director (Gray) was paid hush money and forced to sign a NDA as a condition of his resigning and not being charged in gross malfeasance. The former MDHHS director (Gordon) also got hush money and a NDA for his criminal wrong-doing. Sadly, no one cared then. And that is very telling regarding how Lansing ACTUALLY works. Speaker Tate and Sen Brinks are going to circle to proverbial wagons. I doubt that will require very much effort on their part because it is the unwritten goal of the democrat party to get as many people addicted to being on the government dole as humanly possible. AG Nessel is NOT going after anyone who will spill the beans and is apparently now more interested in going after Gov. DeSantis (yes, FLORIDA Governor DeSantis!). Again, I wish you the best of luck with this bill, Rep. Greene.10 weeks ago Ken Kempkens

ESG is a term I would like folks in my district to become familiar with. It stands for Economic Social Governance. So far from my perspective it is very dangerous!! I know many of my followers are engaged voters, so here is something I need you to research, be informed of, educated on, and and engage with me on to make sure I am not missing anything. I will drop a few links below to get you started. I would also like to congratulate Governor DeSantis for fighting ESG. (See the WSJ Link) When I start my listening tours coming up this is a topic I will cover. Mark Blazejewski I am working on that. What I believe we can do right away is ask good questions and look locally where investments reside —is your local area subscribing to the “ESG” policies themselves if so ask why? Look at who are the investors in your local community, are they from outside the community, if so what is their vested interest. I am just scratching the surface of this myself that is why I wanted folks in my district to be aware of it and walk though this with me so I can best Represent what they believe.14 weeks ago Ken Schroeder 2

Music transcends pretty much everything and brings us to a common ground. Switchfoot has been there for me for the past 24 years. Tonight Jeff and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary with their music. I was honored when they played a rarely heard song Concrete Girl. It was an incredible intimate moment. A reminder of where I was, where I am today and all the anthems that have been written in the in between —still that Concrete Girl but fortified by “lifting myself off the ground.” “We are all trying to figure out where we belong. Love is a melody we must play for each other, we all have our scars our mistakes, but we’re all going to be all right. Life is short we better live it well, BECAUSE love alone is worth the fight! Jim Henwood I know there isn't any such thing as an assault rifle, but the bill describes what it says is an assault rifle. The left wing term was given a description.15 weeks ago Matt Harris 4
The Second Amendment does Not grant us the right to keep and bear arms. Instead it says that the government cannot infringe on that right. That right comes from God.15 weeks ago Carol Ann Fodale-Roberts 6

You've got our support! Thank you for getting ahead of this before you're even in office. Keep up the good work!15 weeks ago Mike Stenberg 2
this bill bans ALL semi out rifles, even the wooden ones. Thank you! As a clear and blatant violation of the Constitution, we want to see more than just a no vote. Jeffrey Pepper should be expelled, or otherwise disciplined, as outlined in US and Michigan law.15 weeks ago Frank Davis 1

Go get 'em, slugger! I don't think the "agencies" would fare out to well if they attempted confiscation anyway. And how would yhis proposed bill fare out with "2nd amendment sanctuary counties?" -

Sugar Beets, Roads, and Dairy Cows OH MY! Well I epically failed at taking photos today—but even if we didn’t get a ton of photos of it, it still happened!! Thank you to Greg Alexander for the fantastic tour of the heart of the Thumb today. We all like to eat nom nom —it was a privilege to see the folks at work who make that happen and the incredible technology behind it all. 🐮🐄🌽🌾🥛 #FreedomFighter65 #puremichigan #jaimegreene #farmlife #farmtotable #michigansugar #farmbureau17 weeks ago Rick Ziehm 2

What does “Let’s dig in deep and put the 65th State House District (all 31 municipalities) on the map!”, mean? How is that an actionable objective?18 weeks ago Jaime Greene MI State Representative 65th District 1
Errol Frick Have you never heard the expression dig in deep? To work hard, to get "your hands dirty", find resources that you didn't have before... To put forth great effort with all one's resources, being eager to take action, to dig deep within yourself with a sense of urgency. "If you want to join the marines, there's no room for laziness. You really have to dig deep." Republicans lost the House on Tuesday. The Thumb is the most conservative area in the State. Do you think we are going to receive any attention now? Expand broadband, expand mobile service providers, expand the VA, bring attention to our Agritourism here in the Thumb and bring tourism to our small town event. To dig in deep is to make a lot of effort to bring attention to the things we need. Now more than ever!16 weeks ago Ken Schroeder

It was an honor and privilege to be invited to the Richmond Middle School Veterans Day ceremony! Thank you! The staff and students conducted an incredible, honoring ceremony. What a blessing! I left appreciated as a veteran. Today Ellie and I had the opportunity to discuss what Veterans Day is. She wrote an essay. Below is the last paragraph of her essay. "We should celebrate Veterans Day because those who enlist in the military appreciate freedom in a way that civilians take for granted, it's a day that gives Americans the chance to celebrate and honor U.S. veterans, those who came home, for they are the ones risked their life for our country to preserve how we live today."18 weeks ago Charlotte Allen Henline 1
Ellie certainly nailed it with her paragraph, good for her!!! 🇱🇷🇱🇷🇱🇷 -
